Venezuela's president seeks every woman to bear six children

Venezuela's president, Nicolas Maduro, has called his country's wives to be born of six children.

He has said this should be done “for the good of the country”, the BBC writes.

During a television show to promote the women's healthcare plan, he has instructed women “to be born, to give birth to”.

This country is facing an economic crisis that has resulted in contractions of food reserves and medicine.

From 2013 to 2018, 13 per cent of Venezuelan children have been malnourished, says the UN Children's Agency, Unicef.
