Today after a government meeting in Ankara, President Recep Tayip Erdoğan announced the package, which includes extending the payment schedule and lowering taxes in various sectors.
“The value added tax (TVSH) on local air flights has been lowered to 1 per cent from 18 per cent over a period of three months”, Erdoğan said.
In addition, the payment of credit to firms that are facing cuts in money flow due to the coronary will be extended for three months, he added.
“We will provide additional support to those companies when necessary”, the Turkish president said.
In order to preserve capacity exploitation levels, the government has decided to extend financial support for exporters, Erdoğan added.
Under the package, the country also doubled its credit guarantee fund limit to 50 billion Turkish lira (7.7 billion dollars), from 25 billion lire (3.35 billion dollars).
He urged employers to encourage flexible and remote work models to curb the spread of the virus.
Since the outbreak in Owan, China, last December, the disease, known as COVID-19, has caused thousands of deaths worldwide.
The World Health Organization has declared the disease global pandemic.
