They have entered the 6th Day of quarantine on 17 doctors and nurses in the municipality of the Year, who were forced to enter the property because they had contact with 77-year-old, who was confirmed with COVID-19.
Despite that so far, none of these doctors have been tested by the National Institute of Public Health to see if they've been affected by this virus.
QKMF Director in this municipality Vjollca Cadolli, who has also been identified, has announced that doctors and nurses are staying in their homes, while another has been identified within the premises of the Family Medicine Center.
Cadoll has said that the isolation of this large number of doctors and nurses in the municipality of the Year has made staff work there difficult.
Director IKSHP, Nasser Ramadani, had said days earlier that these doctors would be tested only if they show signs up to the next two weeks.
Despite that, however, the Public Health Institute has tested the entire government cabinet without having any symptoms for coronarys.
Government spokesman Progress Kryeziu said the prime minister and staff of his cabinet are instructed to be tested, the cause of the working nature and meetings with local and international delegations.
Government spokesman has not disclosed the number of officials tested.
“Given the nature of the work of prime minister and staff of his cabinet, nature which envisions frequent meetings with local and international delegations in the functioning of official duties, and within the framework of necessary measures for preventing the distribution of the COVID-19 virus, the prime minister and cabinet staff, as a measure of increased care, have been instructed to undergo tests. The results from the analysis have proved negative for all. We invite all to continue respecting measures imposed by the Government and the Councils of Professionals”, said Progress Kryeziu, government spokesman.
Health Workers' Union Chairman Xhemajl Saladi says it is doctors who need to be tested first because of their first contact with potential infected people, while he calls this situation discriminating, Time reports.
But the minister of Health this Thursday has not provided any clarifications as to why doctors in the Year have not yet been tested, but has just asked for patience from them.
Kosovo does not have the luxury of keeping medical staff in quarantine for the fact that Kosovo municipalities are facing a serious lack of medical staff, especially infected people.
