Slovakia has increased controls over border crossings in all neighbouring countries except Poland.

” Travelers who will not be able to testify to the settlement in our country, or to display a valid Slovak passport, will be refused”, Interior Ministry spokesman Peter Lazarov confirmed.

After closing its airports earlier this week, Slovakia has cut off international railway ties and buses with its six neighbours, four belonging to the Schengen open border agreement.

Only freight trains will be allowed to pass.

Slovakia has confirmed 21 cases of coronavirus and no deaths.
