Bin Salman is praised as de facto leader of the kingdom after appointment to prince's position in 2016, writes “BBC”, Report Express.
The arrests were conducted in early hours Friday, reports the American newspaper “The New York Times”.
Among those arrested are the king's younger brother, Prince Ahmed bin Abdulaziz, former crown prince, Mohammed bin Nayef, and Prince Nawaf bin Nayef.
The paper “The Wall Street Journal” writes that police went to the homes of royal family members dressed in black clothes and masks on their heads.
The move is being seen as Prince Bean Salman's great move to strengthen his position. However, Saudi Arabia authorities have not yet confirmed or denied the arrest of high figures.
