The business community and economic offices are demanding from the government the adoption of at least 300m euros for the emergency phase of private sector support, following the situation created by the spread of corruption.

In addition, economic connoisseurs are demanding from the government to reduce salaries for public sector employees, thus supporting private sector employees, who have not been active about 80 percent since the 1999 show.

Likewise, Yusuf Azemi, chairman of the Independent Private Sector Union, is seeking a 50% reduction in wages for a period of two months for public sector workers and their equalizing with private sector workers, since the first are on mandatory vacation and the second are working.

Government officials and the Ministry of Finance have not answered Kosovo pris's questions regarding these private sector demands.

However, according to OEK Chairman Berat Rukiqi, the Finance Ministry will propose 41m euros for salaries, 12m euros for rents for two months and 20m for the liquidity of companies. But, according to Rukiqi, this fund is for the emergency phase and will insist that additional vehicles be deployed as well.

Economy expert Safet Gerjaliu stresses for Kosovo that business community requirements for an emergency 300m-euro fund are real to support the private sector.

In addition, he says the emergency fund to support the private sector is at least for two or three months for a salary of 80% of the last salary recorded in the ATK.

I enjoy the fact that the public sector and administration will receive salaries, but it should be thought of as well as of the private sector. The very fact that we have more than 320 thousand employees waiting for this end month with empty pockets is the greatest concern, which has to be analyzed, even in social and human dimension, but above all in economic dimension. There can be no economic recovery if there is no consumption and there cannot be increased consumption in Kosovo if the private sector is paralysed in lack of wages. Therefore, in this regard I believe that it is a time to analyze the mode of lowering salaries in the public sector, where there is opportunity and create an emergency fund that will be infusion for the private sector”, Gerjaliu says.

According to Gerxhaliu, if there is no support for the private sector's emergency fund, consumption in Kosovo will drop, new jobs will be lost and economic development will cease.

“I believe that such a demand, is real and must be realised, because if we don't have a realisation of such a concept, then consumption will drop in Kosovo, lose new jobs, stop economic development and thus benefit many more who do not want good for Kosovo. What does Kosovo need supply with goods in this emergency situation if there is no purchasing power?”, he says.

Meanwhile, the governments of the countries of the region, both in Albania and Macedonia, have taken steps to support businesses and have reduced salaries for some public sectors.

Independent Private Sector Union head Yusuf Azemi, among other things, has written that it is an unambiguous and unequivocal situation without equal to others in this time for private sector workers.

The subx0> Except for health workers this category is in the second front of coping with the situation created by the pandemic and the corona virus. Especially technical workers who are maintaining all Family Medicine Centers, QKUK, and many other centers that are now located on quarantine. This category of uninhibited workers, not supported by any of these workers, is still lacking in basic health - protection equipment, such as Institution protection. These workers can only infect themselves, but in the same situation are physical security workers, let's not even talk about that category of workers working in large food companies that we can truly say are peace heroes in the state of our population. Last week we visited a lot of companies, and we had meetings with a lot of workers, so it was noted that many companies have begun to issue their decisions”, so Azem wrote today.

While the mayor of Pristina, Shpend Ahmeti, wrote yesterday that businesses have fallen to the ground, and the good plan is not yet.

Tomorrow we begin planning for economic intervention in Pristina. I'm willing to work with everyone no matter political affiliation. I'm willing to contribute to any central-level battle with the pandemic”, Ahmeti wrote during yesterday.

Mayor Ahmeti, even though contacted by Kosova Prees, did not take time to propose regarding his planning for economic intervention in Pristina.
