The Social Democrat Party (PSD) through a symbolic action has sought access to official documents to see the content of the agreements for highways and railways signed weeks ago by delegations from Kosovo and Serbia, which were made in Munich, Germany.
Secretary PSD, Nol Niushi, has said they are demanding that these agreements be made public.
“Today we have applied for a civic law. We've submitted requests that constitute public interest issues”.
“Today, there have been 20 days since two agreements have been signed with Serbia. It's about the Railways and Highways Agreement. Besides the signing ceremony we saw through the media, no one knows about them. The government is cutting citizens off the right to inform”.
The agreements are signed on February 14th, that is, in the time of Kurti Government. Their publication naturally raises the question of their contents. The government is not publishing the agreements because it has no courage to take any stand for them. But by keeping them secret, she is breaking the law. The right to access public documents is a guaranteed right. It is guaranteed by Article 41 of the Constitution and by the NR.06/L-081 Law for Access to Public Documents. The censorship is non-democratic practice and violation of law”.
“Prime Minister Kurti and Minister Abdixhiku must respond to this. Recently we have seen the prime minister in the role of investigative journalist publishing 2013 documents. But to become a loan, he has to clear it and tell us if he agrees with the agreements signed 3 weeks ago,”.
