The office of the president of Kosovo through an official response to the country's prime minister's statements, Albin Kurti, that the president should report to the Parliament before visiting the US, has said that the president of the Republic of Kosovo is the highest constitutional institution, which leads with foreign policy and since December 2019 has been urged to organise the session, to address MPs.
The president's office has stressed that all parties that are part of foreign policy are subordinated to the president rather than vice versa, in this case the government and the prime minister, who have the implementation role of foreign policy and advisers regarding their proposals. “The president of the Republic of Kosovo is the highest constitutional institution, which leads with foreign policy. As the President's Office, in the name of President Thaci, since December 2019 we have written out the Parliament willingly so that the president can address MPs, but this session has not yet been organised. This is the second time within a short period, which the president seeks to address to MPs. Likewise, President Thaci is under the auspices of all parties that are part of foreign policy, in this case the government and the prime minister, who have a policy implementation role and advisers for their proposals, and not vice versa”, says the president's Office response. While, in terms of the foreign affairs minister's proposals, Glauk Konjufca, for the withdrawal of several ambassadors, the president's office has said that so far they have not officially accepted any proposal for withdrawal of ambassadors, but the appointment and dismissal of ambassadors is the exclusive constitutional right of the president of the Republic of Kosovo. If these proposals come officially from the Government's side, the president, however, examines”, says the President's Office response. /Periscopi/
