Movement limit creating crowds, municipalities seek change of measures

As we are aware, the Government of the Republic of Kosovo has decided at one of its meetings to ban the circulation of citizens and private vehicles from March 24, 2020, around 10:00 p.m. and from 8:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., in addition to the medical needs, production, supply and sale of essential goods (food and medicine for people and animals/shops), and for services that are connected with the pandemic management (the government's management and municipal staff from these: sectors, health and state security, such as a government administration for mass protection or COVIVI.

However, the AKK, in consultation with mayors, estimates that outside this hour, especially from 4: 00 p.m., there are crowds of people going out to provide for or fulfill other obligations, and this is being assessed as potential opportunities for the spread of the virus.

Taking into account that Kosovo epidemiologists are calling for Kosovo citizens to stay at home, and especially in the coming weeks, the Kosovo Communist Association demands that this decision be reviewed and that the measure be suspended and replaced by a driving ban of 18:00-06:00.

Our request, we believe, will be additional direct measures in preventing COVID-19.

On the other hand, all Communist structures and Municipal Emergency Staff are performing the task with the greatest possible responsibility.
