MPJD reports that Kosovo has managed to extend permission to all citizens who have remained in different states and have a place to stay.

Meanwhile, the ministry reports that other flights will be planned, with which Kosovars who are registered as emergency cases will behave.

Full ministry announcement:

Hundreds of citizens of the Republic of Kosovo have already returned to their homeland, and several hundred more will return over the next few days, as in the impossible to move, they were stuck at international airports or places where they were to visit, jobs, training or schooling.

All of this happened after the governments of most European states of Europe and beyond, including the Government of the Republic of Kosovo, banned international flights, closed state borders and took other measures to prevent the distribution of the COVID-19 virus and its protection.

With the work and extraordinary commitment of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Diaspora, the embassies and Consulates of the Republic of Kosovo around the world, immediately, through communication through emergency numbers, electronic addresses and social networks, it became identification and offered assistance to all our citizens who had remained at foreign airports.

The Republic of Kosovo's diplomatic foreign service, with instructions from the ministry, reached agreement with different states to continue allowing Kosovo citizens to stay. Likewise, our missions listed for the return of all citizens who were considered emergency cases and whose permanent settlement has the Republic of Kosovo.

On return to Kosovo were registered: Switzerland, 481; Germany 420; Turkey, 259; Sweden/Finland é 116; Belgium - 84; United Kingdom 61; The United States of America ʹ and 61; Slovenia, 58, France, 46 people, and dozens of citizens in several other countries.

We make it known that the return at this time depends on the measures taken by various states and the capacities offered for quarantine following the return, since it is already known, anyone currently entering Kosovo is forced to remain closed to the quarantine assigned by the respective institutions.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Diaspora, in co-ordination with other government dictatorships, is working to assist all emergency cases, but at the same time requires understanding and patience from citizens, since in these extraordinary conditions for all mankind, opportunities are limited.

In this case, all citizens are directed to be understanding and patient. Those and those who can stay where they are, stay where they are, be human, and not risk returning emergency cases, those who cannot stay abroad.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Diaspora, in this case, wants to thank all states for the co-operation and humanity shown, and to thank all Kosovo citizens for understanding, as a contribution to overcoming the risk that is threatening mankind by the COVID-19 pandemic.
