A large number of irregular immigrants in Turkey's town of Edirne crossed Greece's side with gomones and swimming in the Maritsa River.
Thousands of irregular immigrants who have gathered in Edirne to cross into Europe continue their efforts to swim, gomone, or wooden boat from many dots to border villages.
Greek police and soldiers tried to stop immigrants who crossed the Maritsa River by opening fire in the air, screaming and chasing them.
While irregular immigrants saw Greek soldiers hide in reeds near the river's bank, Anadolu reports.
At the border line where irregular immigrants are reported through speakers in different languages, including Turkish, Arabic, English, it has been noted that some immigrants have put rope on the opposite coast.
Migrant groups continued waiting, trying to cross through the determined rope into Europe.
The irregular immigrants who go to the border villages with taxis or vans they rent seem to have taken some items with them.
While some groups have stressed that they are waiting for the night to move to the other side.
