The incumbent Kosovo government does not plan to change the schedule of limiting citizens' movements. On March 23rd, the Government had already decided on duty that since March 24 there would be restrictions on the movement of citizens as a safeguard from the Coronavirus COVID-19.
At an online meeting of the Government of Kosovo, held in late hours Monday, it is set to limit the movement from 10:00 to 1600 and from 8:00 to 6:00.
Kosovo Government spokesman Progress Kryeziu has told him TIMES that the Government's decision to limit circulation during the time described continues to be in effect.
“The Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Public Administration hold daily discussions with institutions responsible for implementing and monitoring Government decisions with the aim of measuring the efficiency of measures imposed on preventing COVID-19 pandemic. For any evental decision changing the measures so far, citizens of the Republic of Kosovo will be announced in time”, Kryeziu said.
But the calls to change the times set by the Government now in office have continued today.
Pristina Mayor Shpend Ahmeti has requested review of the restrictions on citizens' movement, as according to him, large numbers of citizens are currently being seen in the capital.
Through a response to the social facebook network, Ahmeti says the “definitely decision on time limit should be revised as quickly as”.
A day more will be a problem. Long queues and tollov in March in Pristina. After conversations with the central level today, I think that's in the best interests of the common goal”, writes Chairman Ahmeti.
During yesterday, Ahmeti opened the same concern on the subject.
The 20-06 and 10-16 resurface decision should be revised urgently. City information from the period 16-20 shows numerous gatherings of 20 and more people on the market. It would be 18 or longer but not so. It's creating uncertainty about citizens. It's not a weakness to change policy after the trial”, he wrote.
The same request yesterday was also made by Gjakova chairman Ardian Gjini.
Kosovo's “Government should urgently, tonight, lift the decision to stop circulation during the day. This decision is proving to be extremely wrong. In the hours when the movement is allowed, there are crowds of people running for supplies or other obligations. Emergency please”, Jean said.
With a government decision now in office, the movement of citizens is limited from 10:00 a.m. to 4: 00 p.m. Limitation is back from 8:00 till 6:00 in the morning.
