Social Democrat Initiative Chairman Fatmir Limaj has said he does not support Vetevendosje deputies' motion for today's budget session to be held in accelerated procedure.
He has said that power is exploiting the state of emergency to quickly adopt the 2020 budget, enabling MPs to give their positions to it.
With use of this extraordinary session to vote on the most important law in the Kosovo Parliament, it has been dishonestly exploiting the situation created in the country. The budget as the most important law is an opportunity for MPs to display criticism, thought, suggestions, amendments about this important one-year law. There is no more serious debate in Parliament than this. Today the Kosovo government is trying to exploit the extraordinary situation so that some way to quickly and quickly adopt this budget, and this is embarrassing to do so”, Limaj said.
He said the budget should be addressed at regular, not extraordinary sessions.
Limaj asked that Vetevendosje Movement's motion for accelerated procedure be dropped, adding that it is required to adopt the budget without the government's first programme.
According to him, these show that it is a tendency to exploit this bad situation to bring out or approve the budget and not give MPs an opportunity to express their attitudes about the budget.
