“Already has ended the era of unilateral sacrifice”, Erdogan said at a meeting of his party, AKP in Ankara.
“Since Turkey opened the borders, more than 100,000 immigrants have left for Europe, and that number will soon reach a million”, it continued.
Thousands of immigrants have flocked to the border crossing point with Greece, in the town of Edirne, following the announcement Turkish officials made Friday that they would no longer stop illegal immigrants from entering Europe.
Ankara has repeatedly complained that Europe has failed to fulfill its promises of the EU-Turkey refugee agreement in 2016, with which further influx of refugees should be helped and contained. / A OVR
