California has declared a state of emergency after announcing its first death by coronavirus, bringing the number of deaths in the United States to 11. According to foreign media, a 71-year-old man who died in a hospital near Sacramento had been on a sailing ship, officials said.
Now, as it turns out, there are at least 150 patients reported in the U.S. to Covis-19 in 16 countries.
Authorities have confirmed more than 92,000 cases of the virus worldwide, of which more than 80,000 are in China.
More than 3,000 people have died globally, mostly in China.
Ten of the 11 deaths in the US were in the state of Washington, but the explosion has also provoked countries like Texas and Nebraska.
Meanwhile, Washington and Florida both declared a state of emergency over the weekend to help prevent the coronavirus.
The man from California who died was believed to have been exposed to the disease while traveling last month on a ship that left San Francisco and visited Mexico.
