European Union High Representative Jospeh Borrell has said dialogue between Kosovo and Serbia comes with EU relief, but that the engagement of international partners is welcome.
In an interview for the Croatian daily Euractiv. Jutarnji, Borrell has said that since his visits to Kosovo and Serbia in January, it has revealed that for the EU, the Western Balkans is a top priority issue.
“As I showed during my January visit to Kosovo and Serbia, the Western Balkans is a priority for the EU and for me personally. I am committed to supporting the progress in EU-extensive dialogue in my role as facilitator. To help boost my commitment and efforts, I decided to appoint a Special Representative for Dialogue and the Western Balkans”, Borrell said.
He added that commitment in support of EU-launched dialogue by the Member States, as well as by our international partners, is naturally welcome.
We remember that the European Union and the United States of America have recently shown differences in attitudes regarding developments in Kosovo. The Borell office has welcomed Albin Kurt's decision of partial suspension of the tax, while Trump's emissary Richard Green has said that the U.S. does not support such a decision and that Kurt is making a serious mistake, since he is removing the tax completely and unconditionally.
Richard Green, US President Donald Trump's envoy, without even including the European Union, Germany and France, has brokered three agreements between Pristina and Belgrade, while continuing his efforts to sit at the negotiating table from Kosovo and Serbia. /Periscopi/
