Deaths from the global choreography can reach up to 15 million even in the case of the best pandemic scenario, says a new study conducted by Australian National University.
The same research shows that global GDP will shrink by $2.3 trillion when the wave of disease has passed. In the most devastating scenario, meanwhile, the balance of death can range from those scientists to 68 million, including tens of thousands of deaths in Britain, the United States, and Italy.
Two researchers who published the study, Warwick McKibbon and Rossen Fernando warn that even if it manages to stem, the epidemic will again have a huge impact on the world economy. Even in their estimates, the largest number of lives lost will be China and then India.
Coronavirus erupted late last year in China, and now it has spread to more than 80 countries in the world. Over 3,000 people have died from COVID-19, and tens of thousands more have been infected.
