China's Ministry of Foreign Affairs spokesman Geng Shuang said in Beijing on Friday that US government officials have voiced many times that they will offer US$100 million aid against the epidemic for various countries, including China.
But so far the Chinese side has not received any funds or aid material from the American government.
A U.S. State Department official said at a press conference organised in recent days that the American side will offer various countries, including China, a $100 million aid against the epidemic.
Even before, American government officials have expressed many times that they will offer help. Answering the question of whether the Chinese side has received US assistance, Geng Shuang said that, after the outbreak began, many American companies, nongovernmental organisations and persons of different circles have offered many funds and materials to express their support for China.
With the United States outbreak scaling, many local and nongovernmental Chinese organisations have offered assistance to the US.
In addition, the US Agency for International Development has indicated it will offer China medical materials, such as masks, protective clothing, etc., but only on March 11th announced to the Chinese side that the materials are ready.
Now prevention of epidemic control in China has achieved positive results, and the epidemic is spreading rapidly worldwide. So the Chinese side officially thanks the American side and invites it to give these materials to countries in need of help.
