Commenting on this draft agreement, political affairs analyst Faton Abdullahu has said any options require changing the Constitution and that it will be a very difficult solution.
Whatever agreement with Serbia, which calls for changing the Kosovo Constitution, will be difficult and will create problems different natures hard to predict. Otherwise, it should be viewed as completed and should be seen as many options as it can and how they can adapt more to our constitution to give the assessment of what might be best”, Abdullah said in a proposal for Periscope.
Abdullahu has also commented on options proposed for the two countries' presidents: correction of borders or Association Plus.
Both appear to affect the foundations of our statehood and the current constitutional adjustment by changing them essentially. Whatever the case, how much will we benefit in dialogue with Serbia will depend on what the Western world in the region is seeking to achieve, respectively, in relation to Serbia, and how unique we will be in our attitudes and strategy in facing Serbia”, he said.
Analyst considers the fact that internal non-unity in Kosovo is alarming over issues that are vital to the country.
“So as we are divided and desensitized with Kurti Government, we will neither be able to refuse what we don't need nor properly accept what will be better for us. The unity of our political spectrum is the vital premiere to win in dialogue with Serbia. Today the lack of this unity has also turned into divisions within the Kurti government, which is now alarming”, Abdullahu said./Periscopi/
