The ambassador of Great Britain, Nicholas Abbott, has reacted after the Government appointed chief of the Kosovo Agency of Discension, Naim Gashi. Abbott says this appointment is a positive sign given by Government for depoliticisation
Abbott writes that earlier, Great Britain through a project supported the appointment of AKA's chief, but this was over.
“Welcome today's decision by the Government of Kosovo to appoint the chief executive of the Kosovar Agency of Discension. Recruiting for this position was supported by our Recruitment Project in 2018; but since then, it had remained unfinished by the name of”, Abbott wrote.
Now, the British ambassador is pleased with the new government's decision and says the principle of meritocracy has been respected.
Today's “Eminance is a positive sign that the Government sends for depoliticisation and respect of the merit principle in high appointments. Kosovo only advances with transparency, merit, good governance and accountability. The UK is happy to help you on this route”, says the ambassador's writing.
