It was European Council President Charles Michel who decided several days ago on February 16th to gather at an informal meeting with leaders of Western Balkan countries, where Croatian Prime Minister Andrej Plenkov, whose country has the rotating EU chairmanship, will participate.
Also expected at this meeting are European Commission President Ursula von der Leyeen, as well as senior EU representative Josep Borrell.
The meeting in the form of work dinner has been called within the framework of preparations for the summit of all EU member states and Western Balkan countries on 6 May in Zagreb.
We remember that this meeting is held before the Donors' Conference (Monday 17 February) in Brussels to donate funds and to the reconstruction phase in Albania following the damage to the November 26th earthquake.
Albania's Prime Minister Edi Rama has voiced optimism that an earthquake-related sum will be collected at this conference.
