The ministry said Turkish artillery responded immediately by destroying the limits, the AP reports.
The attack came at a time when the Russian delegation arrived in the Turkish capital, Ankara, for a second round of talks on increasing tensions in Idlib, the last rebel fortress in neighbouring Syria.
The Syrian Human Rights Observatory, based in London, said six Turkish soldiers were killed and seven were injured when government forces bombed the Tartanaz Air Force base in Idlib today.
They claim that four Syrian rebels were killed in the attacks.
During the past week, eight members of Turkish military and civilian personnel and 13 Syrian soldiers have been killed in a shootout in Idlib.
