The appearance of a pig fever case has alarmed Greek organs. The Agriculture Development Ministry said the case has been located, 85km northwest of Thessaloniki.
The case has also been confirmed by the Department of Medieval Diagnostics of the Ethes and Virological Diseases of the Athens Veterinary Centre after being taken to the laboratory for testing the tissues of a dead pig in recent days.
