According to one study, seasonal flu kills 291 thousand to 646 people per year worldwide.
New figures from the U.S. Center for Disease Control and Prevention and other groups were published on December 13th in the medical journal The Lancet translates Periscope.
These numbers, which do not include deaths from flu pandemics, are based on the latest data by more diverse groups of people than on previous measurements.
The data has been collected from 33 countries containing 57 percent of the world's population of some 1999 to 2015.
The study also found that the threat to flu deaths was highest in the poorest states of the world.
These findings tell us about the seriousness of the flu prevention, this should be a global priority,” the co-author of the study, Joe Bresee.
