A recent study revealed that caffeine drinks help strengthen our bones.
The study, conducted by researchers at the University of Hong Kong, took 564 Chinese adults who were registered in an osteoporosis study.
They compared the mineral density of the bones of those who said they drank coffee regularly with those who did not consume it on a daily basis.
They discovered that coffee lovers generally had the greatest mineral density of bones.
In particular, researchers identified three distinct molecules that were related to coffee consumption and strong bones that were less likely to be broken.
Chad Deal, general physician of Cleveland Clinic, who did not participate in the study, said in a press release:
The “Three metabolics, in particular, were accompanied by an increase in bone density in the sample, and also the same led to a decline in the risk of fracture”.
Coffee caffeine has also been linked to increased blood pressure and insomnia.
