Russian Ambassador to Serbia Alexander Botsan-Kharchenko has declared Russia ready to help about dialogue between Belgrade and Pristina, if required by Belgrade.
He has estimated that the Western commitment to reach a solution has not brought about something new that would ensure the possibility of compromise.
He said about “Sputnik” That all the efforts up to date remind him of the footrace, spend much energy, and no real movement ahead. Kharchenko has also said that so far he has not heard anything positive from Kosovo's new prime minister, Albin Kurti, broadcasts news.
According to him, he has heard more of something that is not encouraging and still presents an obstacle to the return to dialogue. The most important thing is tax removal. This is the first important task. We've heard something, but under certain conditions, it's not clear. And the political aspect in essence, in terms of dialogue and all efforts on the part of the West, I don't think there is anything new so far that could enable compromise, and the solution is possible only under compromise conditions. This is clear to all”, he stated.
The time limit is the enemy of compromise. Compromise is possible only in the event of the reopening of dialogue, without restrictions, with the help of special envoys appointed. There is a need for equality, but above all pressure on Pristina. So I've also started, for Pristina to remove the” tax, Kharchenko added.
Responding to the question of whether Russia intends to appoint its special envoy, Kharchenko has said that Belgrade's stance is important to Moscow, and if he receives calls from Belgrade and wants, there will be solutions, news broadcasts.
In any case, Russia is not out of that situation. Russia is a regular member of the UN Security Council, and without it there is no solution. There nobody can say anything other than some journalists from Albanian newspapers who think it is possible without the Security Council”, he said.
“The logic of international law is simple, if there is a resolution, it is possible to create second only in the event of the next settlement”, Kharchenko stressed.
He has said that so far Russia has not considered the possibility of appointing a special envoy, but believes Moscow will find a solution if Belgrade invites Russia.
