President Thaci: The Special Elections in Podujevo on March 15

The country's president, Hashim Thaci, has announced the date of extraordinary elections for the mayor in the Podujevo municipality.

The extraordinary election for mayor in the Podujevo municipality, based on President Thaci's decision, will be held on 15 March 2020.

President Thaci has instructed the Central Election Commission to take all necessary actions to organise and hold elections for the Podujevo municipality's mayor, in line with its decision and law in force.

Also, President Thaci's decision states that in accordance with Article 10 of Law No. 06/L-092 for the provision and exchange of real estate to the municipality ( GZ, No. 10, April 03th, 2019), the Assembly of the municipality and the executive of the Podujevo municipality cannot make any decisions concerning the provision of real estate and exchange from the day the proclamation of extraordinary elections to the head of the Podujevo municipality.
