Democratic Party of Kosovo Deputy Chairman Shacir Totaj, Kosovo spokesman Avni Bytyci's PDK has held today media conference on recent political developments in the country, sharply criticising Prime Minister Albin Kurti, who, according to them, even after 5 months of the October 6th elections, has not yet offered a governing programme.
In the absence of a clear vision, Mr. Kurti as prime minister has taken action that essentially attacks the independent state administration. For the Democratic Party, legal actions are understandable and acceptable, aimed at protecting the institution. However, it is clear that this government under the guise of legitimacy has begun a sweep of political agendas within the institutions of the Republic of Kosovo. Example is the case of the customs director, who had come to this position after a transparent and supervised competition by the British Embassy, even at the helm of the Ministry of Finance was LDK”, the deputy chairman said. PDK, Shiqir Totay.
He said the move by Prime Minister Kurti has been illegal and harmful to Dogan. “We invite this government to keep its hands off independent institutions and individuals who have so far been noted for success and where the state of Kosovo has invested for years in them”, said Totaj, who also raised concern that the new prime minister has given direction to ministers in opposition to the law to care for candidate selection processes in the civil service, while this issue is regulated by law. “This situation adds to more statements by Vetevendosje Movement exhibitors who have publicly invited to intervene in independent institutions by asking with proper names of downloads and links. Even in the country's most reliable institutions, such as the Police and possibly the KSF tomorrow. Vetevendosje MP Sali Zyba has made a public invitation to step down the director of police Inspectorate. While Victory Pacolli had also requested the dismissal of Ambassador Vlora Citaku”, Totaj said.
For his part, the spokesman Avni Bytyci's PDK said these anti-legal actions of Kurti come as it still does not have a governing plan. And as a result, we have a government without a clear orientation, which its actions base on populism by imposing the improvised mentality. Without a clear plan, without concrete proposals so far for the budget, the Government of Kosovo has reduced its role only in ad-hoc acts and populist decisions”, the Kosovo spokesman said. PDK, Avni Bytyci.
“Government Kurti, in addition to the lack of a governing programme, has lacked even internal cohesion with the coalition partner. As such, this government sheet of two or many attitudes deepens even more confusion. No co-ordination between LV and LDK creates uncertainty among citizens of the Republic of Kosovo and our international partners, with particular emphasis on the United States of America. For the Democratic Party of Kosovo these two reports are necessary for the country's good future”, Bytyci said.
