Pal Lekaj: We'll stage protests if Albin Kurti stops Dukagjin highway

Former Minister of Infrastructure, Pal Lekaj has warned that protests will be organised if the current government tries to stop the project for the Dukagjini Highway from implementation.

Lekaj in an interview for Online Economics has clarified that this project has also been approved by the Kosovo Assembly.

I think it's unfair to Dukagjin and the citizens of Dukagjin where they count 624 thousand people and they are the biggest payers of Kosovo's government and if such a decision is made I think they're placing that region and we're going to do what I have to do and we're going to invite citizens into protests and use all the democratic political mechanisms that are not canceled because this highway is also approved by a budget in the Kosovo Parliament and the MPs themselves have now approved, and an unfair decision will be made. We as the Alliance are determined to take place the Dukagjin highway, not why we come from Dukagjini but which is needed throughout Kosovo to treat equally and not to lynch a region. We have preceded talks about this highway to both citizens and rulers, and 99.9% have been that it has to happen, and the two LDK heads have said a big deal and now politically sanctioning this region is unfair”, he said.

Prime Minister Albin Kurti's plan to lift the 100 per cent fee on products of Serbian origin and replace it with full reciprocity application with this state is not being supported by the former government.

Lekaj added that Prime Minister Albin Kurti with reciprocity is making a new fraud, and, according to him, reciprocity has never been implemented.

I don't believe reciprocity will be successful because we have no explanation of reciprocity because even reciprocity initiatives could never be implemented, and that's how I think Kurt made a lot of mistakes and made a different fraud almost we're removing the tax and putting in reciprocity that never has to be implemented”. /eo/periscope/
