Today marks Kosovo's 12th anniversary of independence

The 12th anniversary of the Republic of Kosovo's declaration of Independence will be marked with many activities organised by central and local institutions.

Under the government's organisation, at 8:00 a.m., the flag would be set up in the Government Court, where the two state leaders and KSF commander will be present. As the ceremonial guard makes the flag, the anthem from the KSF's band is launched.

After that at 9:10 p.m., the two state leaders will be placing wreaths at the memorial complex “Adem Jashar”, in Prekaz, and will be placed at the tomb of former President Ibrahim Rugova, starting at 10:30, and from 10:40 p.m. at the tomb of Adem Demaci, at the cemetery in Velani.

At 11:00 a solemn session is held in the Kosovo Assembly, under the auspices of Vjosa Osmani, Kosovo Assembly Speaker. The presence is two state leaders, family representatives Jashari and Rugova, deputies and international and local guests.

Prime Minister Albin Kurti and Kosovo Assembly Speaker Vjosa Osmani will pay a visit to the Kosovo Security Force, starting at 12:00, where they will address KSF troops in one word.

And during the day, specifically at 1: 00 p.m., it is meant to be the presentation of the newly-looking Obelisk NEWBORN, where it will present the symbol of support and empowering the survivors of sexual violence during the Kosovo war, and which Kosovo Assembly Speaker Vjosa Osmani will attend.

In the evening, starting at 6:00, at the cathedral “Mothers Teresa”, will be organised for the 12th anniversary of Kosovo's Declaration of Independence under the auspices of President Hashim Thaci, where senior state, local and international leaders are expected to be present.

The Ministry of Culture has also seen a series of activities for marking the 12th anniversary of independence. At 11:00 a.m., at the Lapidarium of the National Museum of Kosovo will open the exhibition “Kosovo in the Albanian State Archive”, while the Kosovo Museum, from 12:00, opens archaeological exhibitions “Kosovo and the Adriatic”.

At 1: 00 p.m. in the MKRS, the literature prices split by 2019. At five o'clock at the National Theatre, the Kosovo National Ballet performs “Dance laws”. Yes, from 8:00 p.m., the festival concert of Song and Dance Ansabler “begins. Shot”. In Cinema ABC, the week of Albanian film starts at 7:00.

Also, municipalities have seen some activity. In the meantime we're bringing you some of them. The only activity of the Pristina municipality is the Pristina Big Band concert, which starts at 20.00 until 9:30.

And the Prizren municipality, in honour of February 17th, has organised a visit to the cemetery of martyrs in Landovica, starting at 10:00, the awarding for families of martyrs at the house of culture “Xhemajli Berisha”, from 11:00. The opening of the exhibition by Arbnor Morina at the house of culture “Xhemajli Berisha”, 1500 o'clock. The speech clock “The watch of Independence” at the culture house “Xhemajli Berisha”, from 1600 and the independence concert The NeWborn Group at the culture house “Xhemajli Berisha”, from 7:00. The Mitrovica municipality, held several activities during the week, while tomorrow, by 1: 00 p.m., at “Square, Meshe Uka”, will host the independence concert.

The Gjakova municipality will start this day with the homazhe of Lapidari “Freedom Associations, from 11:00, continuing with the putting on of the pebble for the construction of “Brigard 137” in Chabrat, from 12:00. By 1: 00 p.m., the inauguration of the solemn hall at the Public Library was preceded, and by 5: 00 p.m., the festive program is launched in the Palace of Culture.

Ferizaj starts February 17th with the homazhe at the city's cemetery from 10:00. Then, by 11:00 p.m., there was a solemn academy in the city theater, and after that, the concert for children starts at 4:00.

Youth activities will be held in the city square by 1500. In the evening, at 6 a.m., a collective exhibition opens, while at 8:00 p.m., the premieres “appear in theatre until death divides us”.

The Istog municipality will organise cultural activities in honor of this historic date. The activities will be organised under the auspices of Istog Mayor Haki Ru gova. By 11:00 p.m., the solemn session is held and by 12: 00 p.m., the homazhe- putting flower wreaths at the Lapidari of Witnesses in the center of Istog.

In honour of the 12th anniversary of Kosovo's Independence, the Directorate for Culture, Youth and Sports and the Obilic Community hosts cultural-artistic events. By 11:30 there are homazhes near the KLA Memorial Table of martyrs in this city. By 12: 00 p.m., cultural manifestation is held at the House of Culture “Xavit Haziri“, in Obilic.

The Scythwright municipality pays their respects at 9: 00 p.m., at the University of Adam Jashar in the square of the city, at 9:30, along with the Drinas municipality, pay their respects at the prekaz memorial complex, and then at 10: 00 p.m., at the Maria Witness Memorial. And at 11:00 this municipality has a solemn hearing. At 1: 00 a.m., the city square holds the cultural-artistic program. Also, he's seen a tournament from 1500, at professional school in this town.

In honour of February 17th Kosovo Republic of Kosovo Independence Day, the Rahovec municipality has organised a series of cultural-artistic and sports manifestations. By 8: 00 p.m., it's an anticipated guest reception from mayor Smajl Latifi in his office. Then at 9: 00 p.m., there will be homazhes in all the places and plates of the martyrs of the Rahovec municipality. And at 12: 00 p.m., the solemn session will be held in honour of “February 17th”.

The central festive program will be held at the Mensur Zyberaj Culture Centre by 1: 00 p.m., and by 1600, the finals of football competitions will be held between the four schools in this municipality in the sports gym, Mézahir Isma.

Also, during the day, by 12: 00 p.m., at “Adem Jashar” Square, in Pristina”, the conceptual artist, I Am I, will perform a protest performance which will connect to the day of independence.

The activities have also organised other municipalities of the Republic of Kosovo.
