Four months took for the Vetevendosje Movement and the Democratic League of Kosovo to reach an agreement for co-governance and establish new institutions. But it does not seem to take too long, and new developments will take place in the country. The Haziri war confirms it has given up the local race in Gjilan, while hinting that it is getting ready to take important positions in Pristina.
After working groups did all the work on harmonising the joint government programme, Vetevendosje Movement leader Albin Kurti and the Democratic League of Kosovo leader, Isa Mustafa, failed to negotiate the division of office.
Even at the first meetings, LDK leader Isa Mustafa sought to clarify the presidential post and then formalise the government agreement.
But, the coalition was reached and the issue of this post remained unequivocal. LDK Deputy Chairman Lutfi Haziri in an interview for FactePlus says he will not be talking about the subject for the time being, but when the presidential candidate will be from the LDK ranks.
For busy countries, let's not talk now, I've said, and I have to move away from the fear of failing to elect the president. We're sure we got rid of this. The leaders in the department have to decide for a candidate who comes from the LDK's turn for president and who is acceptable to the opposition and all the people, because otherwise we cannot choose”, Haziri said.
Even in this case, Haziri has reaffirmed that his current party chief is the uncontested candidate for president.
“I have said that if the election for president is tomorrow, Isa Mustafa is a non-disputed candidate does not talk. We never chose another name. But the elections are not tomorrow and he has demanded that neither his name nor others be discussed. This case is closed I believe until February of next year. I don't think we should talk about the President's case again, said.
However, with Mustafa going to the Presidency, the LDK must also elect the new party chairman.
So it does not seem to take too long, and new developments will take place in the country. This is after Luft Haziri confirms he has given up the local competition in Gjilan, while hinting that he is getting ready to take important positions in Pristina.
I'm sure I won't be chairman anymore. It's my fourth term, I don't think there's a late term in Gjilan. Now I'm doing my fourth term. Gjilan did me a favor because he made me president 29 years old and trusted me, and I owed him a full return to him.
Haziri, in a conversation for the FactPlus News Agency, has shown whether there is ambition to take the lead in the party and in what way.
This is a whole new process. They're brand new choices. I always favour political agreements, in no way favour forms and other methods. Internal Democracy will develop in line with the standards we have built so far, will develop even more, but political agreements are the ones that always give everything” solutions, he says.
LDK Deputy Chairman Lutfi Haziri has also told about the negotiations he has been conducting on achieving the current coalition, as well as the moment the LDK told the coalition PO with Vetevendosje.
The end of January 30 or 31, because it was formed on February 1. The political will at all costs has been decomposing, then pragmatism and compromises have followed. But when we came to a point that both sides had done this, we first said or made the deal, yes, then the next steps happened. Isa Mustafa the first and Albin Kurti both said the same deal... the two leaders have said that this agreement must occur because both sides have agreed, compromises behind both sides have made compromises. The principle of equality in representation has occurred”, Haziri expressed.
