Chinese researchers found that the health benefits associated with tea, particularly green tea (compared to black tea), were more pronounced among those who regularly drank tea for a longer period of time.
Researchers looked at data from 100,902 people with no history of heart attack, brain strokes, or cancer and divided them into two groups: those who drank it regularly, those who consumed it not often, and those who did not.
Their tests revealed that regular tea drinkers had a 20% lower risk of being touched by heart disease and strokes, and a 22% lower risk of death from heart disease and stroke.
In their analysis, researchers provided an exception for those who engage in physical activity or are dieted, as well as for consumers of alcohol and tobacco.
