Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti seems to have co-ordinated his actions to gradually remove the tax with EU member states and Great Britain.
This was best seen with the response of ambassadors of EU member states, which welcomed Kurt's seven-point plan.
But something else appeared that day. Kurt had not been coordinated with the United States for his tax decision.
Washington's reaction was very severe. “Prime Minister Kurti is making a serious mistake”, President Trump's special representative in Kosovo dialogue Serbia, Richard Green, had said.
Kurti had kept the seven-point plan hidden even from the ruling partner, the Democratic League of Kosovo, Avdullah Hoti, deputy prime minister in the government Kurti, if the tax is not removed as America is saying.
The prestigious German newspaper “Frankfurter Allgemaine Zeitung” has written that Prime Minister Kurti has entered an open confrontation with Trump and America.
“This is extraordinary, because all Kosovars know that Kosovo's liberation from Belgrade's rule in 1999, from the NATO bombings of Serbia and 2008's declaration of independence, are largely due to the United States“, German newspapers have written.
The European Union has already been set for a long process of dialogue, which would include all topics. Political analyst Adriatic Kelmendi, in an editorial, has written about the idea of an autonomy for northern Kosovo, promoted by Serbian media, but has also found support of the EU.
Until, the U.S. is set for a short and effective process, such as the one in Rambouillet and Vienna, where the parties will be hired within an opimal deadline. As a reward, the US has warned that after reaching the agreement between Kosovo and Serbia, there will be economic fashion investments, fighting unemployment.
