Former Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak, who ruled the North African country for 30 years until a violent uprising, has died at the age of 91.
Mubarak fell from the throne in 2011 and he was the first leader to face trial after the Arab spring uprisings that swept the region.
He spent six years after facing trial on a host of issues from corruption to the killing of protesters, whose 18-day revolt shocked the world.
Mubarak was released in 2017 after being cleared of the final charges of his murder.
His death comes just days after his two sons were released from illegal stock trade during the sale of a bank four years before the 2011 uprising, which ended his 30-year autocratic rule.
