Government has not sent any bills to the Assembly yet

The 2020 draft work plan has been unanimously adopted in the Commission for Integration today, however, since the start of this commission from PDK ranks Blerta Deliu-Codra said it is a regret that the new government has not yet prosecuted any draft law in the Assembly. MP Deliu-Codra requested programme and work by the new government, as the needs of citizens are, according to her.

It is a pity that the government has not yet brought any bills to the Assembly. We're making a month of functioning of the Assembly as an institution. This commission has yet to address any government bills, and that is to regret. The government needs to start work, and it needs this commission under the mandate to carry out its task, which is the adoption of laws. We today meet to discuss the plan, but we have no government bill that this commission would have to deal with”, Deliu-Codra said.

But, the next commission member, Victory Pacolli from the VV, asked the Kurti Government not to rush over the new laws and to give the latter a long time for more efficient work than past governments.

Speaking of the commission's work plan, Pacolli said it is good for the start, but according to her, it is likely that other topics will be added.

Pacolli thinks the commission, apart from visa supervision and liberalisation, is tasked with pushing the integration process away, as there are five European Union states that have not recognised Kosovo.

As for the bills that the government had to bring, I disagree here. The government during its past mandate and other mandates if we analyse EU progress reports, there is no report that has no remarks that ministries and Government have made passage of laws in accelerated procedure. The government currently in operation and all relevant ministries and ministers are working hard to bring here bills that are important to governing this country. We need to give them time for bills, let's not be hasty, because we're not running out of anything. We have a lot of laws that are passed and in force, but they are not respected”, Pacolli stressed.

Regarding the positions of MP Pacolli, Haxhi Shala, member of the Initiative's ranks, said no one on the commission should assume the role of government spokesman.

And if you keep doing so, then we're going to have to crash within the post-opposital Commission that doesn't lead to the best for the country. As for the draft, the draft is good, we expect its fulfillment with the government's” plan, Shala stressed.

The chairman of the Commission for Integration, Armend Zemaj from the LDK ranks, demanding that the debate between these deputies over the government's work be halted on March 3rd on the commission, European Integration Minister Blerim Reka for priority and European agenda stop.

“A leave this part of the victory debate... This is a d shelf much different than the ones the Parliament has drafted in the last ten years. It's completely new, it's new shape, structure and content. If you read it, all of this is involved, perhaps it is also beyond our ability to achieve these results. If you want, we can read one at a time and reason on the two three elements that you raised, whether for what Gazmend said about the legislation's supervision, victory (Pacoli) for activity with countries that have not recognised the Republic of Kosovo, but also for Bleradeliu Kodra), which stressed that we still have no legislation in the Assembly. We expect the legislative agenda”, Zemaj said.

Other MPs on the commission also gave support to this work plan presented by President Armend Zemaj.
