Turkey's president, Erdogan, has warned a large-scale Turkish military operation in northern Syria. In a speech to members of the AK party, Erdogan said the ultimatum to Assad's army is ending to leave northern Syria.
According to him, the end of February is the final deadline within which Assad's army must leave Idlib and Aleppo, which keeps them surrounded.
“A military operation in Idlib is very possible now. We can't wait anymore. We are making our final warning”, Erdogan said, adding that they will impose a security zone in this region at any cost.
The Syrian army has surrounded Idlieb as the last zone held by rebels.
Meanwhile, Turkey has already deployed thousands of soldiers in northern Syria with the aim of preventing the empowering of Kurdish forces, but also of refugees fleeing war zones.
Turkey also supports a large part of anti Assad groups in northern Syria.
