The KOMF condemns the recent case of use of violence in one of Pristina's municipality gardens and calls on law and order authorities to take as soon as possible all measures and actions prior to legislation in force.
“Essentially, the vast majority of pre-school institutions and alternative programmes in Kosovo do not have the Children's Protection Policy, therefore they do not have a system for child prevention and protection, nor do domestic response and reporting systems. Furthermore, a large number of private gardens continue to work without license, not subjecting themselves to the monitoring and inspection process. The KOMF wants to interrupt the work of all gardens that do not operate on standards and do not have a” license, the KMF communiqué says.
With the aim of protecting children in the pre-school institutions, the KMF has demanded that the Early Child Education Act, which is under way, envision the creation of the Children's Protection Policy for Pre-school Institutions and early childhood services providers.
