During an interview with the “agency,Reuters”, Zing Nanshan, 83-year-old epidemiologist who had become famous during the 2003 SARS virus fight, shed tears for physician Lee Yeenliang, who died last week after being rejected by authorities because of the warning of a new virus.
Zong, however, was optimistic that the spread of the coronary will slow down soon. The number of cases of new infections has already begun to decline in several regions, writes “Reuters”.
He said that the coronary will reach its peak in mid - or late February, while the decline will follow. The noted physician did this assessment based on mathematical design, recent events, and government measures.
“I hope this epidemic will end by April”, he said at a hospital where 11 patients from the coronary are being treated.
He added: “We don't know why the virus is so contagious, so this is a big problem, adding that the decline in the number of new cases is good news for China.
Otherwise, more than a thousand people have died and more than 400,000 have been infected by the Coronobrus. These numbers are expected to rise the following days.
