Wuhan for Albanian student Silva Doci, who was doing his doctorate for international relations there, had become a second home.
Living in this province of China would suddenly be interrupted by the deadly coronary.
Since one week, Silva has returned to Tirana.
In an exclusive confession, for Top Channel initially it indicates the first encounter with this event.
Silva, when you first learned that in Wuhan City where you studied, it was Coranavirus center, what was the first feeling, what did you think?
Silva Dochi: When I found out there was a Coronavirus, we're talking about January 20th, since there was an unknown virus somewhere in an area of Wuhan. I was scared. I tried to make the right preparations, but I didn't know what to do. I was nervous.
I turned to teachers, to responsible people at the university, and to my society. Fear continued after I was caught by a Styx flu, and throughout the course of the time, I attended online news about this new virus. I tried to calm myself, but it did not happen the way I wanted it to, since my family found out, and fear grew even more.
When did you decide that it was necessary to leave China?
Silva Dochi: About January 23rd. It was two days after the virus became known outside China. My family started making me leave. The Wuhan siege had also begun at that time, so it was closed.
At first, I did not want to, but in view of the family's concerns and the movements being made in Wuhan to close the city, since it was a vacation season and I was out of school.
The case of Coronavirus and mine became known in the Albanian media through the proposal I gave about Tochannel when I made a connection through Skype with the news edition, a little to explain my situation and a little bit about what I knew about Wuhan. These were the first steps involved in contact with the embassy, which was the process that followed.
Do you continue to contact your friends in Wuhan?
Silva Dochi: Yeah, I'm not only with the other students that we live in college dorms every day but also with my friends. I ask them every day how they are and if they have any loved ones, how does life continue? But not long.
What did they tell you?
Silva Dochi: They try to be quiet. They say we're fine and that matters to them right now. The situation is such that their health is foremost and most important to them.
How was your evacuation possible through a Turkish military plane from Wuhan to an Ankara hospital?
Silva Doci: The evacuation of foreigners I know about was America and France that took an interest in and made the first moves. That was when I realized there was a possibility. In contact with the Albanian Embassy, we reasoned that we would need another state to help us. Not only for me but for citizens of small countries as it took a special jet to get people to Wuhan. Other moves were made by the Albanian Embassy in Beijing and the Albanian government. Fortunately, it had to be Turkey that would take Turkish citizens from Wuhan, who were about 40. They expressed kindness to us, and thanks to the Albanian government's defeat, I became part of the evacuation group on a military plane.
How were you in quarantine for two weeks in Ankara hospital?
Silva Dochi: I would say calmer than in Wuhan after I had received the first results of visit to Wuhan, and I felt more at ease since I had not been touched by Coronavirus. My health was improving along with my spirituality and psychological side. I was closed. Karantine is a process where you're locked in a room. But inside this room everything was in the right place was perfect. Care from doctors from non- medical staff. I'd say no, I don't have a complaint, but I'm very satisfied. They always had a smile of kindness with all the language barrier. It's enough for them to tell me “ram right” and we're good. I expected to return to Albania. Counting days. With all my comfort there, I had my mind in Albania.
You've been back in Albania for a week. Has there ever been any kind of stigmatism to you being seen with the eye of fear by people who might say obo, this came from the epidre of Coronavirus? How have these days been returning home?
Silva Dochi: To be honest, I've spent these days alone with my family. Other relatives have come to visit me and have felt very close to me as I would ever come back from China. They want me to feel good. They've lifted their fears. The family only thinks about the health of the person and yours. My company told me once you're okay and relax to wait and meet like always. But to be honest, I know who I'm meeting with, the first part of the interest is Coronavirus, the situation in Wuhan, and whether I'm going back or not. Then for me as a person.
But will you return to Wuhan as Silva's relationship with Kika follows?
Silva Dochi: I'll be back. I'll definitely be back. I have a school I left half there. I have a lot of friends and friends. The fact that a Coronavirus happened doesn't mean I'm going to leave that city or that country I've lived in for 11 years.
It's just a disaster that happened to people there. I was part of them and I felt it even more. The virus Corona has made me feel stronger in connection with Wuhan, university and all people. I'll definitely be back.
