India plans to vaccinate 300 million people, almost the size of the American population

India is the second worst hit in the world by the coronary pandemic, followed by the United States of America, the Periscope broadcast.

This state aims to rid itself of the crisis in the coming months with a massive inoculation, covering in its first phase almost as many people as the entire US population, writes CNN.

The government of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has identified 300 million people to receive the first doses of vaccines. The priority group consists of 30 million health care workers, policemen, soldiers and volunteers and 270 million mostly vulnerable citizens over the age of 50 and another 10 million with serious communities.

Producers of the three main Coronavirus vaccine candidates have applied for emergency usage authorisation, and all require two doses to ensure sufficient immunity. This adds up to a total of 600 million shocks, and the Mode government wants to complete the entire process by August. / P ERISCOPI/
