Anzorov's body, reported to have been repatriated to Russia for burial in the past week, was transported by people to a village in downtown Chechnya by about 200 people, mostly young men who cheered religious prayers as they walked, writes The Guardian, translates Periscope.
Anzorov's coffin, held by the people who were speaking, was wrapped in a green flag.
While Paty's murder had shocked France, popular voices in Chechnya, including the Ottoman leader Ramzan Cadyrov, have blamed the country's secularism and President Emmanuel Macron for allowing the display of images of the prophet Muhammad.
