The figure does not include people vaccinated by general doctors and nurses at community clinics. About 200 of these local vaccine clinics are expected to operate by the end of the week.
They will be followed by 1,000 others in the coming weeks. During the first week, more than 70 hospitals participated in the vaccine program with 10 others starting this week.
Zahawi said the figures were provisor and available data will be published next week.
108,000 people have been vaccinated in England, 7,897 in Wales, 4,000 in Northern Ireland, and 18,000 in Scotland, reports the BBC.
