Kurti was arrested on April 27th 1999 in Pristina, and until May 2nd 1999 has been held in Pristina prison. From May 2nd to June 10th at Lipjan Prison. From June 10th to December 13, 1999, at the Pozharevci prison and December 13th to March 13, 2000, in the Nis prison.
The trial process against Albin Kurti was launched on March 9th 2000, meanwhile, on March 13th, has been pronounced sentence of 15 years under the pre-conception of Yugoslavia's territorial integrity and sovereignty”, according to Article 116.
Again, from March 14, 2000, has been in the Pozharevci prison, which had given an interview on April 22, 2000.
Between November 2000 and December 3rd 2001, he was in the Qupria prison, meanwhile, from December 3rd 2001 to December 7th, again in the Nis prison.
In addition to prison in Serbia, Kurti has been arrested several times in Kosovo.
