The millionaire sues the casino he lost 30 million dollars in five days

A rich gambler who spent 30 million dollars playing roulette has filed charges against the casino claiming that the staff had promised to pay the bonus but did not do so when he won. Croatian businessman Juste Puharic had finished his 1.5 million pounds at the roulette table at the Mayfair casino in London, and was guaranteed to receive another 27 million, which he played on May 26th to 30th 2015.

But Puharic claims the only reason he risked the giant sum was because he was encouraged to play from the casino staff, which offered him the return of the money he lost, because “was selected as a special, super rich”.

He says he was granted the right to 243,518 pounds with 0.9% commission on his bets, in addition to 1,466,056 pounds he had gained during the five-day stay in casinos.
But owners of the Silverbond Enterprises Company club deny claims, saying he must pay the entire sum.

Puharic's lawyer, Christopher Bamford, said at London's Supreme Court that his client frequented casinos in the Mayfair area since 2002, but has been targeted as a special player since 2015. He adds that the Park Lane Club casino management staff repeatedly pulled into their hall offering lunch and drink to him, telling him that he would find the best game offers in Mayfair.

Puharic says the casino had agreed to return the commission 0.9% for its bets as a chosen client, a bid they made, and other gambling clubs in the area.

But the representative of the Guy Olliff-Cooper company said the casino didn't make Puharic such an offer, nor has it chosen as a special client.

“We may have said that we will do as much as we can to make sure that Mr. Puharic has offers like the ones he gets in other countries. The casinos use different tactics to attract customers, but in the case of the accusers we haven't made this offer. ”

The trial continues.
