Latif Gashi, former command The KLA in the Lapi area, one of the KLA fighters who has been arrested by UNMIK and sentenced to war crimes charges, indicates after many years of judicial processes that Lulzim Basha has participated in his arrest.

Gashi says Basha had behaved badly, as a policeman and not as an interpreter. Below, you can read the entire interview conducted by Top Channel journalist Alberta Hashani.

Top Channel: Mr. Gashi tell us when you've been arrested?

Latif Gashi: I was arrested on January 28, 2002

Top Channel: Who have you been arrested by?

Latif Gashi: I was arrested by UNMIK forces, almost all nationals, including Russian.

Top Channel: What was the reason for the arrest?

Latif Gashi: The reason for the arrest has been for war crimes. It has been an international standard, leading Kosovo to co-operation with international justice. I guess it was an unfair standard. We have been arrested on January 28, 2002. The trial has lasted a full 16 years. Starting in 2003 that has been a trial process, 2005 and 2009, then 2013, 2015 to 2016, I've taken the form of promise. We have also put the consequences to the beginning of 2018, which means that the entire 16 years of the trial has lasted. The extension of this judicial process proves that it was a political process, which was confirmed without material evidence without concrete evidence. After examining the real situation with no confirmation of anything. Only reasoned on the mission called U n NMIC and EULEX.

Top Channel: What concrete charge were you, Mr. Gashi?

Latif Gashi: The substance has been for crimes against the Albanian civilian population, which actually fell during the process. Only treatment and conditions remain. But even the two points that are punishable by the UNMIK court in 2005 say there should be an examination of the conditions of the civilian population and persons who have been banned. That there will be an examination that was the point of the prosecution, not human treatment.

Top Channel: At the moment of arrest, how did the process go?

Lutfi Gashi: The process of my arrest has been the first case when I am arrested for war crimes has been UNMIK's major forces. It was a show. It's under treatment and the use of force. In the case of my arrest, there is a non-human treatment.

Top Channel: You've been arrested in front of family.

Lutfi Gashi: Yeah. I was arrested in front of my apartment, and I was physically attacked as soon as there was an investigation into the excess of physical force. And with my family, he's had an unhuman attitude.

Top Channel: Who has followed this behavior?

Lutfi Gashi: Bad behavior has been first made public by a colleague of mine and you as a television who are interested in knowing the truth. Bad behavior has taken place among others by an interpreter named Lulzim Basha, whose name my family learned that at the moment of control he was wearing a mask. But it seems he was betrayed by the eyebrows and eyes of his characteristic hair and his voice, who on receiving visits from members of my family he was present to the judge and waited for them. That's where my family identified the same person that was in the apartment. Even when he went in, he turned to my wife and my family. He's also other non-human behavior. Not with the role of translators, but the role of a police officer, as before when Serbian police officers entered. Unfortunately, he spoke Albanian.

20 years have passed and I don't want to make it subject. A colleague of mine mentioned the matter. I make sure he was in my apartment and didn't get along. What needs to be clarified to the public is that during the search of my apartment, a war journal was taken into my office. That journal of war for me too has a great historical value for our people. And I believe, considering his position as an interpreter, even as a man most trusted at the time for the UNMIK court with a tremendous salary, I believe that diary has been translated by him and that diary at least I believe that it needs a public clarification even to me as a freedom fighter.

Did he have it in his hand? Did he translate it and know about his destiny?

Why has that diary never been prosecuted as a material test during the trial process, but it was only translated and not brought to international justice, but eliminated it. It says in the record that material evidence 49 was taken from a war journal.

In all judicial processes, I ask him to be administered as material proof that all my activities of war and the Llap area have been written every day. That journal was important to history and why not as material proof that the court trial would be completed very briefly. It's not international justice and it's gone.

Top Channel: What exactly did Mr. Latif contain? What can I bring to light?

Latif Gashi: The journal kept my specific activity, every line of martyrs. Every day what I knew was happening I wrote it in the diary. It's my participation, almost in all battles in the Lapp's operational zone. For international justice it is after its use. For example, I have been indicted in a crime scene, and my journal described in real condition what happened in real time and he demonstrated the charge made by Serbian investigators, evidence received by UNMIK investigators.

Top Channel: Why do you think this journal could be lost or even Mr. Lulzim Basha's hand in his loss?

Latif Gashi: I don't charge that I wanted to do this case and that I had done 20 years ago. If it hadn't been Lulzim Basha translator would've been someone else. There has been Sali Berisha's chika, Argita Berisha, her name. She was wearing a mask too, and during my conversation, I believe she was. Or she wasn't a friend of hers. But I'm interested in a man who claims to be Albania's prime minister, that man is under obligation to report to his country for the services he has made. UNMIK. Besides being a man of sale, he hired him for his own wages. He's going to report in his country, Albania, to Albania's organs. I know 100 per cent that a Serbian janitor is working with UNMIK has collaborated with his state. Lulzim Basha reported to her country. And at least today it's coming forward, I answered today if I was a witness to translate that journal that was never used to go in favor of Latif Gashi and why. I have documents that a separate document was held in 2013 that UNMIK archives have been searched by international investigators and that journal or material evidence 49 have been requested. There is a document telling me your journal has disappeared from UNMIK investigators. This (the Quran) bears witness to the taking of the soul and its removal.

The only blame is blooming, or if I were in his place, if I had noticed his importance, I hadn't made a copy of it. That we UNMIK asked us to criminalize and eliminate the history of our liberation war.

It has led us as a joint criminal enterprise even earlier. Common criminal companies cannot be called a Kosovo Liberation Army. The same term has been in our special court.

Like my family. Me since I was 15 years old, I had been organized into the illegal organization of time headed by Adem Demach. My great grandfather was killed with rifles in his hand, fighting against the Serbian occupant. My grandfather was killed fighting the Serbian occupant with rifles in his hand. Such a story almost all families in Kosovo have.

With all this in mind, I say that the organisation of the Liberation Army in Kosovo has taken place, it has been a mandatory obligation and it has not been a criminal organisation for criminal purposes, and definitely all those thes when they couldn't make our war and our people worse. These are failed attempts. I've been in court for 16 years, and when I've decided to enter the election I've come up with the most voted authority in my area. So they haven't succeeded in criminalizing the war of its leaders and they won't be able to do that.

Top Channel: Mr. Latifi based on your statement that you lost your journal and also based on the statement of Milamim Bellanica a resident of the Great Krusha who has shot the massacre in Krusha the Great and his file has lost, his tape has been lost. And he also claims that there was Lulzim Basha in this process. Do you know any other person who has any evidence I have received from UNMIK?

Latif Gashi:)I've been 16 years in service of international justice. We were definitely in the service of justice to meet standards. As a result, we did not place Kosovo in a bank that does not co-operate with international justice. We paid the price for freedom, for independence, paid the price for statehood. Even what is happening today with international justice is the unjust, excessive price for everything we have today. That Kosovo I has. With injustice, then, the righteous liberation war is being judged. 90 per cent of the processes taking place there are judges in Kosovo earlier. If these are judged, then international covens must change. To write a ban on liberation wars is allowed to attack. This is international injustice.

I'm not here and I'm not ready with anyone. There are others after Luzim Basha, who have served that process, never mentioned that we fought for everyone, whether they deserve it or not. I don't take off any service expectations we've made to the country.

Top Channel: Mr. Latif when you've been questioned, do you know who was an interpreter?

Latif Gashi:)All translators who have been coming from Albania. At least the ones I've had when I'm asking. The translator was wearing a mask. I cannot say that in me the translator was Argita, but I know 100% she was one of UNMIK translators as well as Lulzim Basha. But she was wearing a mask and I didn't meet her later than I was arrested. Another is the identification of the bow that my family, my wife, identified during the visit permit. That's where he was identified. And obedience 100% was when he emerged as politicians in Albania.

Whoever has a quiet soul and is good with my family, that I am not charged with treatment, but with my family he must make a public statement. Whatever he says has value. That when my wife looked at me full of blood and didn't know who had entered the apartment, he broke into my family with the worst vocabulary. So he must be made public.
