Kosovo has signed a Stabilisation and Association Agreement with the European Union on 27 October 2015 in Strasbourg.
This agreement was named a historic significance for Kosovo's political, legal and economic integration into the European Union.
The SAA seeks from a country aimed at EU membership, to ensure that its mechanisms of governance and civil society meet EU standards.
The signing of the SAA was made by former Kosovo Prime Minister Isa Mustafa in Strasbourg.
Even though the SAA is praised as an important act of Kosovo's walking towards the EU, Kosovo is the only state in the region that does not have visa liberalisation.
