Grants will be given to improve air circulation in public buildings, museums, theatres, universities and schools. Private firms are still not involved.
Viruses that are distributed in sprays called aerosoles, released by infected people, especially when coughing or sneezing, the BBC writes.
Studies show that these virus sprays may remain in the air room for at least eight minutes.
Cold weather puts people at greater risk because they spend more time in closed spaces.
The main goal is to improve existing ventilation systems, not installing new, more expensive systems. /Periscope
