The United States, France and Russia jointly condemned fighting in Nagorno-Karabakh, south of the Caucasus.
But Turkey's ally of Azerbaijan has ignored the calls for ceasefire, reports the BBC.
Nagorno-Karabakh is officially known as part of Azerbaijan, but is governed by Armenian separatists. Years of negotiations have never resulted in a peace agreement.
Azerbaijan and Armenia have fought over 1988-1994 for this territory.
Armenia supports the self-declared republic, though it has never officially recognised it.
At least a hundred people reportedly died and hundreds more have been injured so far. /Periscope
