According to INSTAT, during 2018 over 38,000 Albanians emigrated. During 2011-2017, 330,000 people have left the country. In total, for these eight years there are 369 thousand displaced citizens. Leaving is at a rate of 46 thousand people a year.
Migration is leaving significant demographic, social and economic consequences. It is producing evacuations of the country, burdening the pension scheme, aging and lowering the number of births, because those who leave the country are generally young.
The departure of professionals as engineers, doctors, information technology workers, nurses, the teacher creates vacuums that cannot be met easily. This is not only from a long investment of field professionals, but because these are professions that have a direct impact on society and the economy of a state.
Abandonion requires urgent action by the government and the political class, limiting this phenomenon to development policies and increasing state wages for intelligence, at least from July 2020. The 7 percent increase in health - care workers is not preventing the evacuation of hospitals.
Meanwhile, the German Embassy in Tirana announced that our citizens are careful when applying for a working visa in Germany, not to fall prey to sexmen who promise conveniences in the application, against money. The application is all e-mailed and free. There are thousands who are considering going to work in Germany or France. /Euronews.al/
