Seven years later, the Valley Albanians know nothing about the fate of UCMPM's Lapidari

The 28 names of the martyrs of the former Liberation Army of Presevo, Medvedja and Bujanoc (UÇPMB), seven years ago were placed on a memorial plaque, as a sign of honour for their work on the Presevo Valley.

However, it was the morning of January 20, 2013, when a very large number of Serbian police forces, accompanied by gendarmerie units, participated in the operation of the removal of Lapidari in front of the Presevo administration building.

Now seven years since this Serbian state action was organised to the plaque of the martyrs of the UCPMB nation, Albanians from the Presevo Valley do not know about its fate.

The head of the Albanian National Council in the Presevo Valley, Ragmi Mustafa, has told them of news.net, that Serbian officials have been told that the Lapidari is located in a designated warehouse that is under the auspices of the Monuments Ent, but that it is never allowed to be seen by the memorial plaque.

Seven years ago, the memorial plaque of the martyrs of the nation fallen in the UCMPM war. In an operation by numerous special anti-terrorism units, they have violently removed the memorial lpidar where the names of the 28 victims of the UCMP's liberation war have been marked. I threatened under siege and impasses subjected to the violence of Albanians in the Valley. Today, 7 years we don't know what happened to Lapidari, except for the information that he's been placed in a given warehouse and is under the care of the Ent for Monuments”, Mustafa said.

He has also made known about news.net, that despite the continued demands of the Albanian National Council to take care of the Lapidari once again, Serbian authorities have never answered what happened to the UMPM martyrs' memorial plaque.

The Albanian National Council has applied to announce with the fate of the memorial plaque and has requested additional clarifications of how we can take care of it, but we have never received a reply”, Mustafa told the news.net.

Mustafa has also remembered that the entire action to remove the Lapidari was done on the order of Ivica Dacic, who was then prime minister and minister of Serbia's Internal Affairs.

“There has been ultimatums through January 17th 2013 by the then Serbian Prime Minister and Minister of Internal Affairs, and Minister of Foreign Affairs Today Ivica Dacic, who had later conditioned talks with Kosovo, in Brussels with the memorial plaque. But when no one was expected, another vandal act took place against the Albanians in the Valley. Special units led by criminal Bratislav Dickic (Judge and holds prison in Montenegro for attempted coup), wanted to desecrate the highest values of Albanians in the Valley”, Mustafa said.

He also says that with this action, Serbia has proven how far it can go and that it wants nothing Albanian in its state.

According to Mustafa, the removal of the Lapidari has strengthened even more conviction and the lyrical values and ideals for the Presevo Valley and, as he put it, the Albanians of the Valley will never surrender to Serbia.

We remember this date that with these actions has only strengthened our belief in our lyrical values and the ideals of the Valley. This shows how far state Serbia is willing to go to the failure to sign with the memorial plaque of our martyrs. This shows that Serbia is not ready to accept anything Albanian. And we will never give up”, Mustafa stressed about the news.net.

We note that since the removal, the parents of the martyrs have often sought the return of the Lapidar to Presevo, but there is no official information on where this plaque of the 28 names of the martyrs is located.

Also during 2019, Serbian police units had raided several houses of UCMP's martyrs, where they have also caused panic in their families.
